Disciplining employees is the bane of every human resource professional and office administrator due to the fear of: (i) lawsuits, (ii) adversely impacting morale and (iii) having to confront uncomfortable subjects. However, failing to take disciplinary action when misconduct or performance issues arise often only exacerbates these problems and creates even greater liability. This workshop will not only discuss what employers should avoid when disciplining employees but also affirmative best practices to provide managers with the confidence to take action when necessary.
Ken Rosenberg is a Partner in Fox Rothschild’s Labor and Employment Department. He provides his clients with creative and practical solutions to resolve their labor, employment and affirmative action issues efficiently.
Ken represents employers nationally in union and non-union contexts and in federal and state courts and administrative tribunals. Ken also assists his clients in developing and implementing employee handbooks, personnel policies and procedures, and employment and severance agreements. He further provides day-to-day counseling and training to his clients.
Ken is frequently engaged to educate business leaders and his peers on various labor, employment and affirmative action topics and is a Past President of the Essex County Bar Association. He serves as editor emeritus for the New Jersey State Bar Association’s New Jersey Labor and Employment Law Quarterly.
Ken is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell, a recipient of New Jersey Law Journal’s “40 Under 40” award (2008), was selected as a “New Jersey Rising Star” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine (2008 and 2009), and received the Essex County Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Achievement Award in 2004.
